Stationed personnel from the police headquarters and Philippine National Police Special Action Force immediately responded and launched a clearing operation around the ambushed area.
The injured troops were evacuated to the Maguindanao health office for immediate treatment where the attending physician declared the two victims dead on arrival.Â
The four injured policemen were referred to the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital in Isulan for further medical attention, while the remains of the two fallen policemen were claimed by their immediate families for burial.
Nobleza said a special investigation task group was formed to investigate the ambush and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
