Two Abu Sayyaf terrorists surrender in Philippines
Joint Task Force Basilan's troops have been commended for the surrender.
BASILAN: Two Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members have surrendered to the Philippine military in the southern Basilan province.Â
The terror group’s members were identified as Hasan and Dasti, both residents of Bato-Bato village, Al-Barka municipality, said the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) in a statement Thursday (May 18).Â
The duo also handed over one M1 Garand rifle and one M16 rifle during Tuesday's (May 16) ceremony held at the 18th Infantry Battalion's headquarters in Lamitan municipality.
Westmincom commander Lt. Gen. Roy Galido commended the troops of Joint Task Force Basilan for their work that resulted in the surrender.Â
