Philippine Army kills two high-ranking communist terrorist leaders
Communist terrorist troop also killed in Mindanao clash.
CAGAYAN DE ORO: The Philippine Army said they had killed two alleged high-ranking leaders and a suspected member of the communist terror group in two separate encounters in Mindanao.
The 4th Infantry Division in a statement said troops from the 29th Infantry Battalion and 16th Infantry Battalion neutralised the trio in clashes in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte province, and Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental province, on May 20 and 21 respectively.
On May 21, acting on citizen information in Bal-ason village, Gingoog City, the troops engaged in a 10-minute armed encounter, which resulted in the death of Zaldy Galamiton alias Shaggy/Poldo, the alleged Secretary of Sub-Regional Committee 1, and Jhonjhon Ayuma Ramos alias Erbing, the suspected Commanding Officer of Sub-Regional Sentro De Gravidad (SRSDG) Eagles, both under the communist terror group's North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCRMC).
The troops also seized two M16 rifles, bandoliers, magazines, ammunition and personal belongings.

On May 20, an alleged communist terrorist identified as Berto Dayong alias Sadam/Jenel was killed in an encounter between the Army troops and Squad 2, Platoon 1 of the SRSDG West Land under the communist terror group's North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) in Sitio Madbad, Bangonay, Jabonga.
One 9mm pistol and a .45 pistol were seized from the encounter site.
The communist terrorist group, better known as the New People's Army, is one of the world's longest-operating communist terror movements.
They along with Moro terror groups, some of whom are aligned with the Islamic State, pose internal security threats to the certain parts of the Mindanao region and elsewhere.
