ISIS's grenade attack on Philippine Army outpost, three troops hurt
Dawlah Islamiyah terrorists are the suspects.
MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR: Suspected pro-Islamic State terrorists threw a hand grenade at a Philippine Army outpost, injuring two soldiers and a militiaman, in the southern province of Maguindanao del Sur on Tuesday, it has been reported.
The attack is suspected to have been carried out by a local terror Dawlah Islamiyah terror group as retaliation for a recent military operation against them in the province, PNA reported.
Dawlah Islamiyah, which is Arabic for Islamic State, is the generic name used to refer to local terror groups aligned with the Middle Eastern terror group.
The victims were inside a Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) patrol base in Timbangan village when motorcycle-riding men lobbed the grenade and sped away, PNA reported further.
The wounded soldiers and militiaman are currently being treated at an army hospital. Military and police forces have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
